Overcast, way too hot for my liking, but as good as zero wind, nice easy rippling sea, nice light early on, everything set up for a good morning's fishing. Evidently, someone forgot to wake the fish up.

I knew it was too good to be true!

More mullet than you could shake a stick at all of the marks that I tried, cruising right on the shoreline but, predictably enough, not interested in anything I had to offer them (I have the same problem with Mrs Wader - not the shallow-water cruising bit, obviously).

Bumped into another fluffer who had taken one small Bass at some ungodly hour, but that was it. There were a few lead-chuckers about but no-one had anything to report. Maybe we could all chip in and buy another Bass to cruise our lanes!!

It got to the point this morning that the gulls were watching me (I'm sure I heard them laughing) worried

Ah well....such is life.

Oh nadgers!

It looks like I might have missed a trick earlier on! angry

New evidence has come to light that suggests I was right on top of a sizeable bowl of Bass - Mr BassFly says it was so and that's good enough for me!!

They won't get off so lightly next time...
