Why Portsmouth?Hayling is another 25 mins away and would be a much more productive trek.
Good luck

I fished eastoke beach today, and apart from a couple ofsmall gurnard, it was terrible. There is alot of weed around both portsmouth and hayling, and the strongwinds arn't helping. The best spot i've fished in the last couple of weeks has been up by the Ship Inn at Langstone, some nice Bass around

Hi
I fly fish so the weed isnt really a problem but the wind is.
Day time weekends will be busy but pick the right times and you wil be ok.
I fished Chichester inlet a few Fridays ago,4am start, whole beach to myself, over 200 fish caught in 5 hours.Bass and mackerel from the shore.
Cheers
Simon

Hello Eastney sounds like a go'er,I am trying to get my brother interested in sea fishing so I'm wanting somewhere that will produce fish not after specimen size fish just fish so that he will hopefully take it up!!
Where are the nearest tackle/bait shops to Eastney?
Where is best to park?
Where is a good place to fish?
Tight lines all.

Hi Jay

Been down to Hayling the last two nights, both times very windy and difficult to cast, plus weed is a problem, this is all around the island.

Eastney is directly accross so I would expect it to be the same, very low tide last night, I would think the deeper water would be on the right toward Hayling, the naturist area, so keep your eye on your rod tip, but seen fishermen all the way along the beach.

If your coming down the A3 pull off at havant A2149, Havant Angling sells good quality bait. Park in the retail park behind Burger King and then walk through on the main road to the left. open each night till 6.00pm.

Tight lines

2 things to add to the last message, i am from the area and 1. dont park in burger kings car park and leave the site cos you WILL be clamped its even been in the locall press about that site, as soon as you leave that car park they will pounce as its for burger king customers only, and 2 for even better bait come in pompey and find winter road which is very close to eastney and use solent tackle his worm is very good and all his tackle is priced quite well.
anyway goodluck on the trip

Hi DazzerPFC

Take a look at my last message an you will see I didn't suggest that you park in Burger King, but the retail park BEHIND it, I just used BK as a land mark !

I too have used Winter road shop, found the guy very unhelpful, but it could have been on the day, but I wont be going back. Think it was the day of the FA semi's when pompy were playing, so may have been why !!

Good job I din't go back on the day of the final lol

Hi steve1963
Sorry mate i did miss read your post i was meaning to leave a comment for you, as for the bloke in the tackle shop that does surprise me as i have been going in there for years and he has helped me out so much, maybe it was just an off day or it could have been 1 of the other blokes that help him out now and again as 1 of them can be a bit off with ya sometimes. Anyway we all have our own opinions on tackles shops and everthing else fishing relateted and i didnt mean to offend you in anyway.
I am sorry if i did...
Tightlines Darren...
