ok i have been asked to sort out a night fishing trip for some of the lads, one of whom has never fished before, so i need to find somewhere that should produce, not too much in the way of tackle loss( he is going to be using my spare gear 8O ) also that is not too far away from me i am in bedford so would have to be east coast. i am slightly disabled so cannot carry my tackle too far so would prefer a short walk or pier. can any one help. dont want to set this up then we all blank. cheers |

Walton and frinton are good venues with easy access though you are limited by the tide as it is a shallow mark where the tide races out so you'd prob only get about 4 hours or so in 2 up 2 down (you can only fish Walton pier at night if you have an annual season ticket).
St Osyth is another easy access venue where you can fish in the groynes less than 100 yds from where you park your car and you can fish right through the tides- not sure if its dodgy at night as I've not done a night fish there but Concrete might know more.
Can't gurantee you'll catch owt though.
On a different note I hope your mate is more keen than my mate was. He was a fairly experienced daylight angler but really didnt enjoy night fishing. I think he'd built his hopes up on getting a big'un. AS it turned out it was hard work- caught nothing and got cold and wet- he's vowed not to do it again whereas I'm always up for more punishment. |

sorry, shoudl have said all venueas are on Essex Coast- dont know if that counts as East Coast- you might want to invest in Sea Anglers "Top Marks" for £8.99- it gives details of good marks around the country |

Could be a good idea to have a trip to the venue before hand in dyalight hours... piers and walls are good places to start night fishing as some are lit up at night and you have no worries about an incoming tide cutting you off or getting you wet! |
