hi all in need of some more help.
iv been out sea fishing many times and i have seen the skippers use a laptop with maps/navigation.
my question is i have an old laptop and a old PDA can i buy the software for ether to use??
or is it better and cheaper to buy the unit's???? |

get your self a gps/chartplotter as thats all the laptops are set up as, the skippers use them for the screen size

i have one on my home pc which i use for plotting routes when we are going out.
very handy thing to have and was thinking of putting klappy on boat with it ion but couldnt be bothered lol |

I have a 'copy' of C-Map for windows pc. I can arrange for a copy to be made for you if it's of any use. It has ALL C-Map charts worldwide on it. |

Been reading this thread and wondering how much a GPS would cost for use with either Tsunamis or C-Map and what types do you guys recommend ?? |

maxsea is the way to go especially when you turn on the 3D/2D and can see in 3D what is underneath you are you above that deep channel youve been hunting for and also maxsea shows all the wrecks currents tides its pooh hot |

If price is included in the equation, you can't beat the Lowrance/Eagle Nauticpath cartography system. Unlike the other sytems, a single chart chip covers ALL UK waters for a low purchase price. Now for just over £40 for full UK coverage. Compare that cost with the competition! |
