after returning to sea fishing after a v long time i am on the look out for the reel i used to use, i know it was a diawa, think it was a millionaire but i had a leval wind. does any one know , 1, the correct name, 2, are they still available?

Yeah they are great reels. I had a few of em. The reels now that have gone on from those are the Daiwa 7ht's. These are very good reels and when I first got one they were well over one hundred pounds. More recently they have gone down to seventy or eighty quid maybe. If you are quite new to multipliers ( or like you starting over again ) I don't think you can beat the Abu Mag Elites. I use them all the time and as well as centrifrugal braking; you have magnetic breaking also.
I pendulum cast and rarely get snap offs. Not because I spend hours on the reels cos I don't. But a bit of oil in the bearings now and again and magnets set to about four and they behave pretty well. Whatever you end up with good luck and tight lines.  |

Forgot to add. the Millionnaire successor that I mentioned above is in the converted format . It has no level wind so that it can be used for power cast styles without the problem of getting your thumb right over the spool. |
