ok today down seaham hall beach i have seen something i have never witnessed before. the tide was on its way in and there where fish climbing out of the water quite literally, running up onto the pebbles of the beach, there wasnt just one or two but hundreds. they looked like whiting but i did notice some larger codling to about 6oz's. why where they doing this? the water was only about 3' deep at 50 yards and it was fairly choppy |

This could have been due to evaiding a predator?
Or due to a strong incoming tide to strong to swim against? |
