There is not much you can do to avoid dogs im afraid.
One way would be to use a float rig with worm or crab for wrasse pollack mackerel and bass or you could spin with jellyworms or frozen sandeel.Great sport on light tackle.
I havent caught many dogs on lugworm so you could try that as a bait but it does reduce the species you are likely to catch and crabs make short work of any worm bait. |

if the dogs are on the feed theres not a lot you can do about it. i was out last week with rag, razor and lug and they were taking everything. 2 secs after it was in the water and the rod would start bouncing. i heard they dont really take rag, but they did that night. i had at least 15 and they were doin my head in but at least its a fish. better than nothin. |

use jellies shads greenfish and spin for pollack and mackeral and with other rod either float fish with rag/limpets or fish with a paternoster rig with crab rag squid cocktails. doggies are problem in the morning and late evening. I fish the ledges and can produce some good pollack but torr head produces double figured pollack spinning. |
