i have just come back off holiday and i caught this fish... it seemed rather unusual to me what it is due to its colour. looking around it looks like a pouting but pouting are silver but this fish i caught is orange? can you please tell me what fish this is?

Looks like a Jackson to me, I've had a drink tho', pollocks

hi gubby, what you got there is a pollack were you fishing near a kelp bed as you catch loads around them

yeah i was fishing at the bottom of the cliff at the side of the kintyre lighthouse, arent pollock usually silvery colour? is it wierd for it to be orange :L

all the pollack we catch around kelp are an orangy brown colour as it is camoflarge for them

Hi Deffinatly a pollock, all fish will have slightly different colouring due to there location, kelp beds produce green/red to orange coloured fish while those that my be around clean ground will have lighter markings, hope this helps.

hi Gubby,was interested in your post when you mentioned Kintyre.lm off there on the 11th July for two weeks,actually staying in Pinnenver.Was there any other marks that you fished and caught ofcourse?Last two years lve been there its been plagued by SEALS,is any just as bad?
