Hi guys,

am thinking of fishing a night session at Orford Narrows real soon. Would like to know a few things so would appreciate any regulars' wise words...

1. Is it snaggy? (Best to fish rotten bottom?)
2. How deep is it there?
3. What's preferred fishing distance?
4. What are the best baits?
5. Any other tips?!

Thanks guys. really appreciate your help.

the best guy to ask is pete who runs the ferry( regardless ) he has all the
lastest reports and tacktics and will tell you the best time to go and you can book it there and then job done

(1) No not really snagggy, you'll need 8oz weights to hold bootom tho, The crouch can be snaggy but walk left or right from the drop off point and you'll be ok.

(2) Deep!! A steep shelving beach

(3) 50-80 yrds no need for anything further IMHO.

(4) Lug and Squid

(5) If after the first cast your bait comes back intact, leave it for longer a fish will come along eventually.
Try double squid on a second rod about 20 yrds out with a long snood, you never know mr mahoosive bass may be about..

DONT FORGET TO TAKE ALL YOUR RUBBISH HOME WITH YOU, Leave nothing but footprints..
Have fun!!!
