hi all just upgraded my rod to a shakaspeare salt 12ft mx rod
being a newbie to multipliers looking for a inexspensive user friendly1 i could learn with as im on a budget due to another child on way
price range£0-50 poss
im using a old abu ambassadeur 7000 a friend has kindly lent me but find
it that bit heavy

You should be able to purchase a goos secondhand 6,500 at that price or even the 6,500 mag.

if you can get the abu 6500 c3 ct mag elite(green one) second hand grab it with both arms, preferably with "made in sweeden" on it. that was the first multi i used and its very user friendly. get someone to put in brake blocks if you can. they should only be a couple of pounds. give it plenty of practise on a field tho before you hit the water with it.

As you are in Gateshead, I imagine you will be fishing the rough ground of the North East. If this is the case, you should really be looking at getting second hand SloSH or a second hand Saltist - these would be the most suitable for this type of ground. An ABU Mag Elite would last about 5 minutes before you shag the gears. |
