A measure of some description if you intend keeping certain species for the pot

I think the 10 most important things would probably be the things you would use the most ...( apart from the usual reels, head lamp, rig wallet ect )
If I am going to be mobile ie, moving up with the tide and back down on a shallow beach or rockhopping I always carry bits that make life easyer by not having to travel up and down to my box and shelter so all I need is my tripod, rods, small plastic bucket with a couple of bait tubs, which can easily be shifted as the tide dictates.
On my tripod,
1. Baiting needles :- a couple of large baiting neeedles which I tape to the tripod legss
2. Scissors or large nail clippers :- I have a little bar I atach to the arm of my trypod and my scissors slide onto this.
3. Bait Elastic :- agair on the bar
4. Hook sharp tool :- again on the bar
5. Long nose forcepts :- again on the bar
In my pocket,
1. Small plastic box containing everything I need to build a new rig up quickly ie beads, swivlels, gemini clips, ect ect
2. Spool of snood and rig line and shockleader
3. Plyers :- come in so handy for loads of reasons and very at hand when your looking around for somehing to knock your fish on the head with....the amount of times Iv helped others dispatch fish is countless.
4. Tea towel:- clean your hands and wrap fish in.
5. Sun glasses and hair gel :- When some stunning swim suited blonde walks past and stops to admire all the dead fish you have neatly presented at your tripod you always want to look your best. .....Oh Oh...narly forgot Hip flask filled with ice cold vodka and red bull or a hot flask of tea ....so you can offer the blonde beauty a drink while she admires your chest wadders
Some sort of lubricant always comes in handy too.....my preferance is WD40
Hope this helps mate

Apart from the obvious lines, leaders, hooks, swivels and other rig stuff, I will always include
Spare reel
First aid kit - antiseptic wipes, plasters, safety pins & small bandage roll.
Superglue
Bog paper / wet wipes
Headlight and spare batteries.
Pliers & screwdriver (have had side plate screws come adrift before) |

Two items i allways carry and use a lot that are not on the normal lists are a roll of electrical tape and a length of para cord both are cheap and have many uses. I've used the tape for rod repairs, tackle box repairs and i've wrapped it around my thinger or thumb when i've left my finger stall at home. The para cord has been used to tie things down in wind and i allways use it to seecure my brolly (bungee straps are too dangerous one strong gust of wind can cas the bungee to spring loose and cause injury) and i've used it to repair my tripod. |

I allways carry a spare knife and sharpen both before leaving home trying to sharpend them on the beach or rocks is asking for an accident to happen. |
