Headed down to the black jetty saturday afternoon with miss chuckles ,daughter and two mates .weather was blowing a gale but it was nice and sunny.we headed for the second layby mates at one end us at the other .I had two rods ,daughter had one and mates had two each .There were a few fishermen on the jetty who had been there all day not that many fish coming out from the far end of the jetty.one guy had a 3lb cod and another had a decent size eel.we were using rag, lug, and my mate was using peeler,we all had a handfull of bass the biggest up to 2lb ,flattie and a few crabs lol.The bait was getting stripped by crabs pretty quick .The fish were all caught mainly on the ebb due to us turning up slightly late.we will try another part of the jetty next trip due too the second layby being much shallower than the 1st layby. We learnt a new idea for getting our fishing gear up and down the stairs of death lowering it down all in one go by rope ,thanks to that man who offered to lower our stuff down .Another good trip on the jetty.
