Can anyone recommend a decent low priced rod and reel for sea fishing?
Hope someone can advise me.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt, you could do worse than visit www.jims.org.uk
I have bought loads of gear from him in the past including rods and reels. All the gear is well discounted and I have always serched but never found a price that matched his. |

Can't say fairer than that then. Forty five squids for rod and reel is not bad. The Shakespeare rods that I have owned have been pretty good so hopefully you will be well happy with the deal. |

Its mainly for beaches, weather or not they are clean depends on the people who use it ! :? just kidding.
I cant answer that as i dont really know the south east coast or any coast that well, dont fget i've not long been sea fishing for that long, thats why i joined this forum i need input and loads of it!
I prefer fixed spool reels i dont get on with mulipliers to well.
cant understand why me reply is appearing above your last post :?
read my sig at the bottom of this post it sums me up |

I picked up a beachcaster rod (10ft) and Okuma(sp) Fixed spool reel for a princely sum of £40 - reel was already loaded with 20lb mono line too
Including a few leads, snood line, hooks and bait and a few odds and sods £60.
Except the bait (of course) , 1 year later , best £60 I have spent - hours of enjoyment and no SWMBO nagging in my ear  |

Depends on what venues you intend fishing mate,is the rod for clean beaches, piers, clean to mixed ground, mixed to heavy ground?
Rung for what type of reel? F?S or Multi |
