Just wondering if anyone can suggest the best places to think of using the fly rod down at Hayling – am reasonably experienced fly fisher (all salt water so far done down in Cornwall – some great sessions down there) but new to fishing at Hayling. Looking on Google Earth and the OS, some of the creeks on Chichester Harbour look as though they’d be interesting each side of the high, but the issue is where to go/park for best access etc.
Any help will be vey much appreciated. |

Hi there,
For Sandy Point area you can park on Southwood Rd.There are some free spaces opposite Bosmere Rd.They are likely to be full though unless you get there very early. There is a path that leads upto the beach with a wooden house next to it.Big blue place cant miss it.
There is a large pay car park at the ferry end of the Island.
Beware of the current at either end of the Island its really fierce. Also be careful of the drop off in the channel at SP.
Cheers

Hi Simon,
Thanks for this. I’ll go down and have a good explore sometime soon – low tide first to see what’s there. Are there any other areas worth looking at that are accessible?
Regards,
Andy |
