Some time ago when I used to launch at Rhos on sea I witnessed a van that tried to recover a boat,
Unfortunately the van got stuck and the driver spun his wheels so much the the floor of the van was hard on the sand. A landrover and a tractor tried to put him out before the tde reached him but it was too late and the sea claimed the van.
In this situation you will most probably find that you vehicle is not covered by you insurance company and that they are more than likely to refuse to pay out.
Cheers

Personally i think anyone using a vehical for a job that its not suitable to do then they deserve the trouble they get into, i would never tow a boat onto a beach or down a slipway with anything but a 4x4
