Hi Fishtitus. Have you decided yet? I've also been looking at the Prowler 13 but have also heard good reports about the RTM Disco and the Scupper Pro. Now the wife has started asking if there are 3 seater kayaks winking

Seriously though I've been trying to work out what would be the most suitable, I know most people are using sit-on-top types for fishing but wondered whether these are the most suitable for UK waters (e.g. do they limit you to calmer conditions that the sit in type?)

The sit on is more stable for fishing than the sit in
i use a wilderness tarpon

this will give you idea of there range from 8ft kids to long fishing ones hope that helps

have been bidding on a prowler 13 on ebay, seems the most popular choice without physically trying one out.most of the ocean kayaks look good but the prowlers are what nost anglers have got.cheers

There are two that will suit you very well:

PROWLER ANGLER or TARPON 120 or 140 ANGLERS

The standard 120 is easy to upgrade to the angler, 2 flush mounted rod holders, a roddy & some sealant is pretty much all that needed, and will save you £200 on the official Angler version.

Tarpons are smaller, not as stable as the prowlers to be fair, however, the prowler is more expensive, heavier and longer. I cant put a prowler on my roof without help. Tarpon i can.

I see alot of anglers going for the prowler, a few more going for a stubby Bic thing, however for me its a comfort issue. THE SEAT.

Prowler, Canvass seat, gives good support.

Tarpon has a folding rigid seat with padded back, superior lower back support - unrivalled.

i have a tarpon 100 and i mackeral fish off that with no probs and the back support is great as i have a damaged spine anyway, also have a friend who is paraplegic and he has a ripper the smallest one of the wilderness range and he fishes off that without a problem
