Hi all!
Ive just decided to take up sea fishing after going to chesil beach and hurst point fishing with a friend of mine who knows what he's doing. I enjoyed it so much I'd like to do it some more!
Ive bought my own rod and reel, and I'd like to go sea bass fishing on my days off from university. I'd ask my friend but, he lives back home which is like 60 miles away.
I have no experince when it comes to buying sea tackle, and I was wondering if anyone could advise me as 2 what I need to get down the tackle shop tomorrow.
Specifics would be great, like I said Ive no experince. I have looked at online tackle shops and they are selling rigs. Is this what Im after?
I dunno....oh help!! |

1. 1up 1 down rig,
2,long flow rig,
they are good bass rigs,
weights,
1.3oz
2,4oz

cool!
this may seem like a daft couple of question but can you catch cod in or around the Solent? I'm in Southampton and the solent area is probably where I'll be fishing.
Also would I have to make any changes to my tackle and what changes would they be? |

i have never fished there so couldnt say, i know cod are bottom feeding fish, they are like the hovers of the sea,so any rig that is on the bottom,is best,1up1 down is good, and longflow, works well as the bait is on the bottom, |

the shockleader,is a must, you tie it on at the end of your line, then attach evreything to it ,ie, your rig and weight,
if you dont use it you will snap your line and the lead weight will come off,
very bad news a lead flying about, could hurt someone, |

OK, my friend attached a small metal clip to the end of my line. Is that a shock leader? |

that sounds to me like a snap link, shock leader is strong line, i normally use 60lb, thats 10lb for every ounce of lead weight
hope that helps |
