Hi Sue and All,
My baby bass was of similar size to Eva who was fishing to my left,
OOps forgot to hand in sheet due to being one of the last to the presentation tent.
It wasn't about winning its the taking part quote "Kopite Col" on way to match if we lost the team event LOL.
BUT WE DIDN'T LOL
Joking aside
Where Can I start
The biggest winner was 2 charities who are now £220 per unit better off.
The Day was a masterpiece of organisational competence for which everyone who attended and fished owes a huge hug, thank you and well done to
Strood Sue a woman who has no doubt spent the last months eating, sleeping & dreaming of the success of this event.
Thank you Sue, Seaferret and Squiddly.
We all aplaud you
I will be putting some pictures up soon once Image shack uploads them ha ha. |

Ive just posted the 2 cheques for £220.00 off to the respective charities!
The Kent Air Ambulance Trust (South East)
The Royal London Hospital (Constance Green Ward) (Thames Estuary)
With this letter attached.. i hope you all approve!!
Sue
Please find enclosed cheque for £220.00 which is half of the £440.00 raised from my charity fishing meet that I held on Sunday 26th April and what a day we all had!!
I couldn’t have asked for better weather! The forecast had been for a dreadful weekend of rain but, on Sunday I drew back the curtains with much hesitation I may add!! VOILA what a gorgeous day it looked at 05.30 haha I was so excited and hoped that it all went to plan and that anglers ACTUALLY turned up!!
31 anglers turned themselves out for this charity meet!
They came from Canvey to Aldershot, Southend to Strood, and Ramsgate to Gravesend!!
10.00 was the agreed time to meet at The Little Oyster car park at Minster most were there by 09.30!
I checked all in who came and sent them off to their allocated peg to start fishing on the whistle blow at 11.30.
I was nervous as heck by now!! A gibbering wreck!!
Blew whistle and they were off! Was a concertina effect of rods being cast into the sea!
16.30 I blew the final whistle
In total 16 fish were caught, 2 of which were Flounder,
1 at 11 oz which took the winning 1st Prize,
1 at 10oz which took 2nd place
And 3rd place was a catch of 3 undersized Bass,
All fish were caught and returned safely to the sea!
Then we did my raffle which took 1 hour to complete!
All prizes had been kindly donated by various tackle shops around and some local shops to me in Strood. To which of course without their generosity this would not have been.
In all a GREAT day was had by all!
So as I say here are the monies donated to you by our meet!
It has been a great pleasure to raise this and I am soooo pleased that it all went without any hitches!
Please have a look at the site www.sea-fishing.org in the South East Forum under South East v Thames Estuary charity meet and you can see all about it and photos and comments from other anglers who attended!
Yours sincerely
Sue Horne |
