Fished Hillhead this evening with bassfly on incoming tide. Despite the calm conditions the water was a little coloured. No sign of any fish activity, not even mullet. Still managed a small bass to a sparse DNA Clouser so all was not lost. Got chatting with a guy float fishing bread for mullet in the harbour who had just caught a 4.5 lb sea trout!! He was chuffed to say the least and did the honourable thing by returning his fish. So, the spotted cod are around, just a question of somehow getting one one the fly. |
