hi,
just out of interest where do you get your shelters from and are they any good?
is there somewhere online to get them or are you buying them from your local angling shops?
i am looking for something high enough to be able to sit inside on a chair and if poss at a squeeze fit 2 chairs but also to keep the cost sort of down |

I have owned a Beach Buddy for years and at around £130 its not cheap but you get what you pay for basically  and buying a beach buddy will last most a life time :!:
Cheers

Suspect you want a tent mate - plenty around at better prices than the high priced beach buddys. Anyway we got ours from Reeldeals when they were in business - chinese one for £20, we can both get in and sit on boxes have used for two seasons now with no probs. My advice is you don't need to pay £100+ for a beach buddy, other stuff is OK if you look at the spec carefully. The most important thing is to ensure it is well anchored at the edges - Sean and me use 4 or 5 bricks which we take with us. |

Different models weigh different weights obviously but they are all around the same weight i own a beach buddy and choose it because i know of people still using them that are over ten years old... if you have a rod bag/sling you will hardly notice you are carrying one as quite light only down side is a bit of a wierd shape when folded down the end bends over a bit not sure if this is the same with the ron thompson or navigator... |

The bricks weigh just over 2kgs each, the chinese beach shelter weighs about 1.5 kgs doesn't really matter to us 'cos we park close to the beach anyway. If I had to walk about 2 miles with all me tackle and the shelter I wouldn't bother. |

I've had my Beach Buddy since the early nineties. It's had tons of use and has never let me down. It's now getting a bit tatty and I'm dreading having to replace it, as all of the shelters I've looked at are nowhere near as well made, including the new Beach Buddy. I'm all in favour of developing a product to improve it, but every shelter I've looked at is cheap c*ap with either a cheap or very expensive price tag. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. By the way jb, you would have been regular a lot sooner if you had eaten more dietry fibre
