It's been almost a year since I last fished the foreshore and things seem to have changed in terms of catches and access.

Talking to friends who fished last winter I'm told of a dramatic drop in catches of cod and codling, was this the case for you?

I'm also told that access to the foreshore is now restricted to one access point, left of the heliport,is this still the case?

Making life difficult for the angler is something that seems to be rearing it's ugly head for this venue and I'm interested in hearing any news or advce for the benefit of our forum readers.Lets hear from you and tell us of the trips you made last winter and any difficulties or issues you were faced with in terms of access and catches.

Mal-nomates you are right, there is really only one access point to the foreshore now, head for the security gates, turn left immediately before them, turn first left again and follow road around a couple of bends till you come to a block end, on your right is sheffield insulations, park there, and walk left around the back of the building, follow the building right the way around the back turning right. once at the end of the building, go left upon to the bank and you can see the beach in front of you, either fish there, or walk to the monkey pole, or the wall. the wall and cods corner are not doing bad at the moment, i had a couple codling there two weeks ago. waiting for this rain to die off, as it obviously keeps the fish out further.hope this helps? poach?
