went to a beach just past brid with rockhopper (ian) got there and there was abit of surf looked like might have a decent fish there we both wer fishing 2 rods and the tide up on mid flood i caught a nice little couple of pound codling only fish caught between us and the guy fishing next to us never caught out i was fishing at distance with a mixture of mussle and squid sasuage to catch the codling also had razor and little lug had quite a few bites all decent knocks but never came back for the second all in all nice to get out and also 1 of us catching a codling makes it a good trip will be out again on holderness coast on thursday

Oh well at least you had a day by the sea and didn't blank. Some days you win others you loose. Better luck on Thursday

what time are you fishing also will the wind be blowing against you the reason i ask is id like to fish tommorow anywhere from sandsend to withernsea but the last thing i need is to get to the coast and the sea be to rough and the wind too strong i could fish the west coast but ive never been so i dont know any spots. |

i duno where we will be fishing yet got to wait for ian to ring me as for the wind it will be 18 mile an hour north eastly not bad and will prob draw the biger cod in with abit of sea if yoou dont live fishing ib rough weather then i wud say dont venture out m8

haha i dont know where you are looking mate its 22mph gust lol if you cant fish in that then your a summer fisherman not a true fishing nut why would you not fish the prime winds to have a chance of catching a decent fish?

i have looked at 3 other sites and they say 22mph gust and ive fished 45mph straight in ur face mid winter with frost on the ground dont bother me ill fish anything but it upto rockhopper hes the 1 with a car

im a novice fisherman if the wind is strong im not sure what what would be a bite or just wind the weather wouldnt bother me one bit plus i always thought you had to have the wind on you back so to speak i still have loads to learn but i will percavere. |

i understand m8 but aslong as you can hold bottom you can fish in winter and now what you can expect to catch is codling in rough weather they love it but i dont think i can go out tomorow as work want me in and could do with the money lol
