I may be mistaken but it looks more like a boat reel. Has it got a steel spool? and what is its physical size.

Take it back m8, if you use that thing you will hate multi's for ever.
Get a 7ht, they are nice and cheap. |

It really pees me of when dealers sell tackle which is completely unsuitable for the customers needs.
I am fortunate in that I have a dealer who knows the fishing tackle industry like the back of his hand and that is not just sea fishing tackle. He has taken the time to learn his trade and therefor keeps his customers happy.
My advice is to check the tackle reports on here and find a new tackle dealer. Best of luck mate and return the reel for a full refund.

Thats dead right rabbi2, some dealers just tell you what you want to hear just to get your cash, when if they just tell the trooth they will get more cash from you in the end as the trust will be there. |

As long as you set the brakes, and cast nice and slow and smooth to start off with, you should be able to build up with your casting without too much trouble.
The thing i have noticed with multipliers i have bought, is that the cheap reels are a nightmare to cast and will more than likely to put you off multipliers.
A good quality reel such as an ABU 6500ct should only cost about £50 (I think) but a good place to start for casting. |

i bought my first multiplier in january, a cheap £50 penn. i tightened the brakes right down and promptly nested my first cast. then i remembered why we were designed with thumbs and have not nested since, in fact with careful thumb control the brakes has been slackened and the casts are gaining in lenght all the time. i would not buy another level wind multi though |

Hi Torsk,
i started with my first ever multiplier on my Devon break, (Had used one on a recent boat trip but involved no casting) Casting with floats in Devon and few heavier weights was quite easy, did manage a couple of nests but nothing that didn't take only couple of mins to sort.
When I went on forum boat trip the other week used the Multi all day long with some quite good uptide casting, again couple of little nests but nothing to worry about.
As long as i stopped the spindle with my thumb once the weight hit the water I wa fine, I can't wait to get out this weekend for bit of flattie bashing with my Multi and 12 ft beachcaster.
Good luck mate with a multi if you choose one.
If I can use one anyone can
