Hello Barbel, I bought 3 last year, and no problems with any of them, in fact iI had 2 7HTs for 8 years and they were problem free also.
Just remember to give them a rinse under a running cold tap after each trip and make sure you check them for smooth operation before each trip.

Cheers m8, Yes they are lovely reels, Got good distance straight out of the box, Found the free spool engage button a tad stiff though |

Yes when the free spool button is stiff just turn the spool slightly with your left thumb and it will then go in easily. Its a trait that all Daiwa's have including the old 6HMs. |

yeah barbel
I took my side plate off and it didn't quite go back to original settings. Cant really remember how I fixed it, but just re-jiggled a couple of times and got it back ok. but be careful not to play about too much in that side of the plate otherwise it could be a send back to Daiwa or somebody more experienced to fix.
Got 2 now and great except as above spool release button.
Started with Abu mag and Daiwa. Abu easily my favourite until I started to get used to Daiwa. Now use both 7HT's and Abu sits in my bag as a spare
PS. 2nd one £125 of ebay topcarp59. Got it in 2 days (Thanks to Orion) |
