Hi,

we're off for a couple of weeks in August to Duirinish West Scotland and I'd like to do some sea fishing (yes I'm already planning it)

I have a little experience beach fishing or from rocks, so any advice greatly welcome.

Kit is currently a 13ft rod, and I'm looking to get something that is little more vessatile but will go to 3 oz. I'm happy to fish from most places, as long as it is safe.

If anyone knows of any good areas, tackle, times (in relation to tides please let me know). I'm not after your special locations, just some good local knowledge if possible.

Also bait, where can I get some, and is it needed for everything.

I'll fish for anything as long as it;s good eating!

If anyone knows of a good local charter, that I can take my 5 yr old on as well please let me know

Many thanks

Try these

Try these people for boat fishing

Also try seaching for lochcarron in the forum as I seem to remember spo posts here about it

I don't know how mobile you will be in August but the MV Kerry does sea fishin trips in Gairloch which is 60 miles away

Anyway, hope you have a good time
