HI ALL IM A NEW MEMBER AND JUST WONDERING IF ANY FISH HAVE BEEN CAUGHT YET ON THE FLY? I KNOW ITS A BIT EARLY BUT ANY BASS OR SEA TROUT TURNED UP YET ON THE SOUTH COAST?
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF TIDE FOR SEA TROUT AT HILL HEAD AND HAS ANYONE HAD ANY JOY AT THAT LOCATION?
IF SO ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT! |

Hi Brenn, I reckon it will be another week or two yet - although water temperature is now rising a bit, I think we need to see it a bit warmer although I did see a school bass last weekend for the first time this year. |

Hi,
Noy sure about Hillhead but Hayling will be quiet at the moment.
As Eccles said...gotta be warmer in the ol briny.Wait for sea to hit 10+.

Went for my Saturday morning run along the coast from Hillhead to the Hamble but no sign of any fish. Once the fish are close to shore they are easy to spot when running along the cliffs. When I see them I'll be back with the rod and post a report. Usually by the time the clocks change the Bass are not far away. |

My heart says as the clocks change I'll think about fishing. The reality is the fish wont start chasing flies until the first set of spring tides in May. |

I think MJB is right. I may get lucky and find a half decent bass by bait fishing at night but doubt if I will take one with a lure (which is my version of fluff chucking) until May. |
