I love the venue.......but I have had a lot of slow days up there.
Recently I made a log of my past trips, dates and catches. Last year all I was getting at this time of year == rockling small codling(if lucky).
You are best off fishing for Bass from mid May to October, any state of the tide. I had a few good sessions last year but also a few blanks.
You may get Thornies off the saltings on the flood as they come up river to drop their purses at this time of the year - I tried twice with no joy. Fishyrob (the chap who made and markets the Dvice) had one last year in February.

This is my own report , fished 3hours up & 2down me & my buddy pal like anther 8 other danglers yesterday we all blanked on a west is best wind , fishing with lug ,squid & sprat not even a bit , smashing to get out in the sun & be by the Crouch
