Frozentoes decided I should pop down the local Car boot Sale the other weekend when woken up early on a Sunday morning.
I pottered round looking for any fishing bargains that people aren't too sure of there value.
Low and behold on one of the stalls a Big plastic fishing seat box (Being a northern lad I refuse point blank to pay £30 quid for plastic Box) I think its bred into you oop norf !!!!!
How much I enquired to the elderly gentleman Urgggggghhhhh £2.50 came the reply.
Well I thought I had better be charitable and not barter him down from this extreme figure. I duly paid.
Now the box is black with 2 side trays and the size of the larger shakespear boxes available in all good retailers.
I carried on with box carried safetly trying not to Knock little kids over with the jutting out edge or sending Grannies flying as I smugly carried my bargain of the century.
On entering the busy car parking area a flash nearly new Merc hit my box which flipped his mirror against his side window.
He had the audacity to slam his brakes on while honking his horn and gesturing at me.
RED RAG BULL comes to mind
I marched up to the passenger window rapped hard as possibe on it as he wound it down and politely (Well as polite as an irate Northern Git could be ) offered to give him free dental surgery and remove his head from his shoulders and do a bodily function of the lower regions down his neck.
Both parties in the car ended up apologising and went on there way.
Now as those who have met me are well aware I enjoy a good laugh and am very placid and mild mannered, but we all have a breaking point and nearly being run over after getting my bargain of the century took me to the edge.
I had to even apologise to frozentoes as she doesn't expect her other half to be picking a fight before 10am on a Sunday morning.
Ps My box is all packed for a holiday fixed on my trolley and after a good clean is ready for action. |
