Hi all, thought i'd try my luck down the river Sunday took a long walk out past shornemead fort to a point out on the saltings past the old lighthouse site (35 min walk),opened my rucksack only to find one of my tins of Strongbow had been punctured by one of my leads wire, not a good start not sure if i could go 5-6 hrs out in the wilderness with only 1 can.lol.anyway lovely day flat calm, little breeze but NO fish, fished from 2pm-5.30pm ht 3.3o tried all the usual baits rigs etc but nothing worked, had a lovely burn though and totally chilled out, popped in the Ship & Lobster on the way back to find i wasn't the only one to blank infact i was in the Majority only heard of 3 fish coming out 1whiting 1 flounder and 1 scabby 2lb codling,so it seems it's just not happening on the river at the mo..but will no doubt be out next week for some more.

Ive given up on the river, not had a bite there all year, had about 4 sessions. Get out fishing for the rays, they will be here in numbers soon and 2 trips a week at least will be on the cards. |

Hi Wizz i thought i could see someone between the watertower and the Fort fishing i'll have to get some binnoculars maybe next time i'll try smoke signals to see how your getting on.lol.
Scuffa, the loss of the Strongbow was harder to swallow than the blank!.
Tiddlerman, would like to tag along for those Ray's at some point i'm hoping to go next week and the week after.
Cabrat,i think you could be losing the 'Blanking Crown' soon cos i'm sure you'll be catching big time when your down in Devon you luck bugger.
