Hi everyone, in my area there used to be a sea angling club but the guy who used to run it retired and the club just stopped. However there is a group of us that wish to start up the club again. Do you have any good ideas or what you might expect to have when becoming a member to a sea angling club. All good ideas would be a help to us as we dont really know what sea anglers would expect.
Cheers |

well paying a fee to fish a free venue is pointless so unless you intend on buying/renting somewhere then the money they pay would have to be going towards something decent other than just a club membership...
I pay £14.00 Per Annum to fish Seaham pier/Docks and it is money well spent, we also have regular matches and access to good bait collecting/worm digging too. The money we pay each year goes towards the fee's for our club renting the pier from the dock company and also the security fencing stopping non members getting onto the pier... i have to admit the fence was destroyed by a very rough sea but we are also having a new club building built soemtime this/next year so its money well spent |

I'm afraid that in my experience, plenty of anglers want to be in a club but do bu**er all to help run it. It nearly always comes down to one person doing everything Also don't expect any praise, only moans
Miserable git aren't I ?

Concrete ....I`m afraid to say this was my experience in trout fishing clubs too....one person (me) does all the work, the rest complain. I think this is a British mentality thing here .....This is why I`m happy to spend my time sea-fishing it gets me away from the snobbery and politics associated with running a club 8O |
