Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on these reels, I know that the 850 have had some issues and are not recommended by most people but surely the 750 isn't as bad? |

you can get the surfmaster 70 on ebay. its about £50 i think with free P&P to uk. supposedly a much better reel than the 750/850. |

I've had a 750 for two years now and can't fault it. I've heard that the 850 has different internals and isn't as good. I use 15lb mono on mine and have no problems. The aluminium spare spool is a bonus as well. |

My mate bought the 750 just over two years ago and the drag adjuster came adrift just before Christmas. Also has the design fault of too shallow a skirt to the spool so easy to get line trapped underneath - he has done it on a number of occasions followed by the expected crack off. I also think they are overpriced for what you get. Interesting that many tackle suppliers are selling them at huge discounts, I wonder why. |

I gave the 750 ago this evening and could not get on with it to save my life, think i am going to have to practice with it but at least it assisted with the catching of a 2lb 12oz Cod and a couple of small Whiting |
