Read an article in this months Sea Angler and really want to give it a bash this spring/summer.
Anyone else had ago around South/West Wales? Seems the perfect set up to keep in the car if the fancy takes you as no need to get bait, etc. |

All you need is a 11'6" Bass rod stuck in the boot of the motor, stop off at a rock mark, and just do it !!!
What more could you ask, I'm goping for a Bass rod in the boot this year, no doubt about it, sod what the missus says! |

i wouldnt use a bass rod, although thats what its for. get your self a 9 foot 15-40gram spinning rod , small spinning reel with some 10lb mono and a few lures, perfect. you will get a much better fight and as long asyou dont catch a monster the line should hold. the gower, is a great place for spinning. you could fish a different rock mark every couple of days, and have a good chance of success. langland bay is my favourite. the left hand side of the beach has some great rock beds where i've had bass upto 6lb on a lure. |

Well, I'll have to give Langland a try, but fish to 6lb are not really my quarry, as my PB is already 6lb 6oz.
I will be calling on squeaky this year to give me some guidance and I'm sure we can do some great sport fishing.
Squeaky is 1 year younger than me, so I'm sure he will will be looking to the wise old man for guidance (ha ha ha).
I'm looking forward to the plugging this year around the Gower, especially as it is just up the road for me top travel.
Good Luck guys',
Regards Micky. |
