Arrived on erith pier about 1030am, low tide was 11am with the high being around 5pm. went to the very end of the pier an set up 3 rods. 1st. single 3/0 hook with squid 2nd. 3 up flapper with size 1s, rag an blow lug. 3rd. 3 up flapper size 1s, rag, blow lug an lobworm. i cast each 1 out at varied distances an sat back waiting...
within 10mins rod 3 was banging away an slackened off, i started to retreive what felt like a decent sized fish only to lose it before i caught sight of it within 30mins i had another 2 bites on rod 2 an 3 an missed them both, by this time i was an i was gonna blank!!!!
my mate turned up an within an hour he gets a bite which results in a flounder.. what am i doing wrong i think??????
about an hour passes with no more action an im starting to fill like it wont happen, i decide to re bait an as im reeling im thinking, there's a it of weight here, to my suprise up pops a double shot of flounder which didnt register a bite
as for the rest of the session it was cold, wet with no more action, saw another couple flounder caught elsewhere on the pier but nothing else, a quiet day for erith today, but at least we didnt blank.... no sign of any cod, all the whiting have gone so will be waiting for the eel an sole run come spring....

Good post and report Jay.
I'm gonna have to get down on the Erith pier and get the lines out with Frozentoes.
