Hi Everyone, Just wondering if frozen bait is any good, I can dig loads of blow lug down on my local beach but they only keep for a few days alive!. If i were to freeze em and use them at a later date would they still be an effective bait .

If they're going to die make sure you gut them. When they thaw I've heard they will probably turn to mush as geejay said but I don't know anyone who's done it so it's worth a try (especially if the worms are going to waste anyway) but you might need lots of bait elastic |

When digging lug in our estuaries we get dark brown and black worms. These can be gutted and frozen and used in the same way as frozen black lug, you just need more of them because they are smaller. I also have frozen lug on to hooks and have caught lots of fish on them, mainly codling, whiting and pouting. I haven't tried this with ragworm though, what do you catch on them basildon-mick?
cheers
