On Sunday, I was really enjoying my first beachcasting session in 25 years, pleased as punch with my brand-new Shakespeare Salt travel rod, 6500 CT reel, home-made rigs and frozen lug.
It was as though I had never been away ...... with my faded orange bouyancy suit (de-spidered) and my old tackle box containing remnants of tackle I hadn't sold off years and years ago, no doubt to pay for our first holiday, pair of curtains, carpet or other such nonsense.

But then I came down to earth, remembering why I always had TWO reels for each rod............ CRACK !!!! my first birds-nest, no doubt caused by my piddling about with adjustment of the brakes.

Luckily, not a bad one, just 20m of line lost, but a stark reminder that it does happen, and a spare multiplier is a must to get back into the water quickly.

So, I'm looking for a "spare" reel, as similar (although not as expensive) as I can get to the 6500 CT mag.
Willing to collect and pay cash pretty much anywhere in the North-West.

Whilst writing my 1st post, I really must commend Sea-Fishing.org.
The information I have gleaned from the forums and info sections has been absolutely invaluable.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks Darren,
I'd much prefer a spare reel as I don't much fancy changing a multiplier spool over under a head-light, with cold wet fingers.

Still looking for one!

hi mate i have got a 6500c3 ct elite for sale for £60, good condition , you can buy a mag conversion kit for it, i have heard they work great on these reels but i dont want to drill a hole in the side of my reel.
