hey guys well ive got a 6 day holiday starting sunday upto seahouses, ive fished there one or two times before but with little success *cough none cough* i know there is the pier... but you cant fish on top of it, there is the kelp covered rocks to the south of the pier... but i wont be taking enough gear

there is the alternative of the very shallow beach covered in lugworm beds, ive never caught anything there not even a crab but i did notice its shallow.

how should i fish this beach? what baits? i can get rag and can dig the odd lug if need be but im thinking 3 hook rigs with rag and mackeral as bait, not sure if i can go down at night... actually what species have been getting caught from the beach?

Alright Thom mate, yes the beach does produce fish mate mostly dabs and flounders and the odd coal fish, the rocks are more productive giving wrasse, pollack, codling and a chance of bass.best bait on a 3 hook set up mate, rag, mussel and makerel

wow, just got back and i lost god knows how many leads on that thar rock! landed codling to 4lb and a plaice of 2lb from the beach and rocks directly under the caravan park.

also went out on a boat for the first time in ages, borrowed kit from skipper and with prawn and razzor as bait landed 20+ codling between 6oz's and 5lb aswell as 2 ling and loads of mackeral in three hours too:)

great days out but i do need to replace some lead now...
