Fished the boats from 6pm till 11:30pm. Using old sticky frozen lug that was perfect for dabs, it would have been a great night had there been dab of any reasonable size around, but alas... Anyhoo, I had some squid and sprats with me as well, so tried them on a pennel at all distances for anything cod-like, but apart from one nice bite that spat the hook as soon as it had taken it (on squid) there was nothing else around. Seems it was the same for others there too - a spattering of whiting (small), some see-through dab and a couple of doggies seemed to be about all there was. I did leave one hour after high however and the wind was picking up, so perhaps those who stayed will have had more to talk about. It was a nice night though, a welcome change from being blown about and soaked last weekend... |
