Hi I had noticed this guy making up a mass of bait on the end of his rig, apart from the usual bait elastic I have no idea what the hell was holding it all on to his line... I mean it was like 4-6inchs (Bait ball), shorley that must be going up the snood and no where near the hook!
Can someone tell me if this Cocktail method of fishing is worth its time and effort to do, and also how to go about seting it up ie hooks etc..!

Hi mate,
I have tried bait cocktails with limited success but then I've had limited success every other way as well!!
The cocktail is supposed to be very effective (something to do with a bigger scent trail and all that). I tend to set mine up on a penell rig or on a rig on which I've fitted a larger sequin up the snood to srop the bait riding up.
Hope that helps a bit. If not, have a look at the fishing mags 'cos they're always raving about 'killer cocktails'. |

Hi mate
was his bait not put on a 2 hook pennel, top hook holding the bait up?
I normally have a squid and mussel wrap,or peeler and mussel wrap, sometimes i do have a cocktail of squid, mussel, peeler, razor fish and rag worm all held together with baiting elastic,BUT i have seen anglers using the stuff coarse anglers use to keep there bait together,it is a bag made of PVA,it dissolves in the water |
