hi im going to kennack sands in cornwall and would like to know if there is any chance of catching mackrell from the beach there. any info would be much appriceated

hi Steve

Cast a sandeel anywhere in the sea around Cornwall and theres a good chance of catching mackerel! .. but generally you are better off fishing from rocks into deeper water then from a beach. There are plenty of such places in the Kennack area (Lizard/Coverack/Porthoustock/Porthkerris) but if you really prefer beach fishing for mackerel then Loe Bar, Portleven, is probably a better bet then Kennack. Not only are mackeral often caught there but, due to it being unsuitable for swimming/surfing, its one of the few Cornish beaches that can be fished during the day in the summer

Yep I agree

Porthkerris is the DOGS for Mackerel - I have taken them there on light fly gear - GREAT fun
