A mate of mine hired Deal Pier for a spot of night fishing on the 29/12/07. It was bloody cold, and the lights went out on the lower deck, and the security guard couldn't get them back on - so we all ended up on the top!!
Anyway, no too bad a nights fishing, i had 2 codling (1 of 1.5lb and 1 of 3lb). A mate had 3, all between 1.5lb and 3.5lb. Others caught whiting, dabs, and even a rockling. Codling took lug and squid, whiting and dabs took plain lug. Spoke to the chap at the end of the pier, and he said it hasn't been fishing that well lately. All the big fish caught upto 2-3 weeks ago have all moved out again - guess its down to the damn sprats, and the easterly wind. Think we need a decent hooley to stir things up again - but, a good night none the less, and at least i christened my new rod!!
