just the thing for winter bait when worms are in short supply, get hold of about 100 mussels shell them sprinkle with salt in old cullender and leave for 24 hr , then put between 5 to 10 mussles on to baiting needle and rap with bait elastic up and down till you get a nice sausage shape pull off needle and you have your sausage it can be frozen for later use , you can make longer ones and use them on pennell pulley rigs it far less fuss then trying to do this on the beach, hope this is usful big hug it can also be mix with squid like a kebab for cocktails

Leave them on the baiting needle and freeze them, and it makes them easier to get onto the hook when they defrost big grin

I've just done this, but with slight variation.

I've used disposable cane barbeque/kebab skewers to mount the mussels on before freezing, and will be able to slide the mussels onto the baiting needle before putting onto the hook.

This way I've done 6 skewers, without the cost of 6 baiting needles!

Best
Steve

Mussel kebabs coming to a take away near you soon. devil Good advice Findus, like the idea of using the disposable kebeb sticks Steve.
