A member on here not so long ago posted a pic of the Greys rod he had snapped while casting. Also, someone on a fly fishing forum was suggesting that they had gone too far down the ultra lightweight route at the expense of strength - hence them recently changing their lifetime guarantee to make it more expensive to get repairs.
I've got Grey's spinning and fly rods which are really good to use but I would have a dig around the internet to see if more people are reporting problems before you splash the cash. |

hi mate i had a greys grx last year, first time i used it on a beach, first cast i or so snapped mine in half . so i sent it back to greys 2 weeks later i got it back and i went fishing again this time the top eye ring flew off? so if i was you keep away from greys rod... i use a dawia supercast with abu 6500ct high speeds. the rod cost 140pound and the reel cost me 80pound new which is a bargain |
