Myself, Jonty and Frank were at the wall by around 7am joined 30 minutes later by Bispham_lad. It was a cold morning and just continued to get colder. I was the first to catch after around 15 minutes into my first cast, a small flounder. That was it for the rest of the day until about 15 minutes before we were due to pack up. Frank then caught 3 flatties within about 20 mins. Jonty and Bispham lad unfortunately blanked. However, Frank and Bispham decided to fish the low tide at Rossall later on. I'm sure they will let us know how they got on. Sorry I didn't take any pics lads, nothing worth looking at really. I don't think I'll be going to the wall again until there are some good reports coming in. |

Well done guys was to early for me still in the land of nodd at that time there seems to be a trend at the wall upto now the reports have not been so good it might be an idea to move further down coast ie:- rossall / fleetwood and try the wall now and again good report sam.

as sam said very cold no the wall but i blanked again i think theres a jinx on me and that wall iv only got one flattie in five visits i think ill give it a miss and go up to whitehaven its farther to go but as keith says you do catch fish so miss a couple of short trips and go for a day out i only hope the comp with the yorkshire lads is not on the wall as we dont stand a chance if it is 6 hours seven rods a only four flatties by for now jonty |

As Sam put, i blanked. I change where i norm fish and look what happens,,,, lol lol. Here is one for you, Frank lost two rigs so when the tide went out we both went on the beach to look for them. Well we found them, both with flat fish on them . We then went to rossal just to blank, but had fun trying to pump the worms out of the sand. Est |

The wall is ok for accessability but for fish it is crap. Ive seen 40 plus rods out on some occasions and only a handful of undersized fish caught. This is not my idea of fishing. Those that have caught including myself, have caught just by pure luck as bites are completely undetectable due to tidlal flow, undercurrents, weed and rubbish. I personally would rather travel for fish than blank. Cheers keith |

Well Im sorry i have to disagree with Rabbi2 its not so long ago ( this summer ) we were travelling to holyhead a 6 hour driving round trip just to catch 1 dog fish, a spider crab and some blanks also. its not that long since we went to whitehaven all that travelling for what a couple of mackeral, the wall is probabley the easiest place ive ever fished, its the shortest 35 mins drive for me , this week i had 3 flatties, last week i had 2 flatties and a rockling the week before i had 12 flatties and 3 rockling and have never blanked on the wall whilst we have been going on there, I have included the smallest fish you have ever seen i stabed with the wire on the weight lol, so looking at my records its telling me to keep fishing the fylde coast , its cheaper and nearer and i catch more....you know it makes sense lol...Tight Lines and Bendy Rods...Frank |
