Aimed mainly at the Cumbrian lads. I own a small trailered angling boat and wish to know if the west facing beach is accessible at the end of Sandy Gap Lane by vehicle. Looking to launch a light 16 foot Orkney using my 4x4 without the hassle of launching into the channel next to the Barrow bridge and sailing right round the island. If you are unsure of exactly where I mean have a look at Google maps. The road and beach I refer to are clearly shown. Thanks in advance for any information. George. |

My other half is from cumbria and he says no you cant go that way but that there is a boat/sailing club which if you join you can use their tractor. Also says it might of changed now but 5 years ago you couldn't.
It might be worth seeing if you can contact the club and ask them.
Hope this is some help to you.

The next question is, where does the tractor access the beach if not here? |

Sorry, no idea. Maybe you would be better asking at the club? |
