Theres a place on around the coast from portrush as you head towards ballycastle called ballintoy where you can catch near enough any species. try fishing pier first. you can park on the pier and there is public toilets and a cafe there also. Makeral bait is best. let me no how you get on if you decide to give it a go. |

I am well pleased that the Irish forum is picking up as I read all the posts on this forum as I lived over there for 6 yrs and enjoyed every miniute of it.
Well done to all of you for the help you are giving to each other and to newbies to the sport. You should be proud of yourselves and may it continue.
Good luck to you all.
Cheers keith |

Not much fishing on the North Coast but Ballintoy Harbour at rear of the cafe has various species to offer you. Downhill for sea bass mackeral flounder. Portrush at Blue Pool spinning for pollack. Mackeral at present being caught in Ballintoy and Ballycastle. Torr Head is very good for Pollack reaching double figures but be prepared to lose tackle. Best fishing is Donegal if you want a place close to North Coast as you can get Ferry from Magillian oner to Donegal very cheap but but your bait before you go. |
