Hi. Just bought a ABU 6600BCX to go with a Salt Flattie by Shakespere and its been working well for me with 2oz leads, loads of flounder on the Humber at Barton. has anyone else tried one and would this reel be ok to use with a 13ft beachcaster for Cod and Whitting later on. |

hi pal, i bought one of these reels to initially get back in to beach fishing.as i began to go more regulary i realised the reels limitations.it is basically a budget entry level multiplier.the internall gears are plastic and you are never going to cast any great distance.having said that i was able to cast 6 oz leads about 100mtrs.if you go more regurly you might want to look at te abu 6500 mag or daiwa millionaire 7ht.youwill double you distances.hope this helps |

Hi thanks for the reply. I bought it to go with my Salt Flattie rod for 20 yard chucks into the Humber at Barton so I think I did the right thing, anything more expensive would been throwing money away. |
