I know from past experience that anglers use wierd and wonderful contrapions, lures and baits. So it set me wondering if anyone had any luck using Flying C lures. The reason for asking is that I have a stock of them in my tackle box ready for my next game fishing trip (salmon) sometime in Dec or Jan as I now have the bug lol.
I know from experience that they would work for mackerel as they will go for anything but as for anything else such as whiting, cod ect Im unsure as to weather I would be wasating my time. Cheers keith |

kieth a mate called andrew [landy 123] uses flying c for flatties with some success, you can catch pollack as well but they have to be "deep" spun just a few feet off the sea bottom as for cod should work but i think they would be better from a boat hope that helps ,tight lines me old china |

You wont be Salmon fishing in December as it's closed season. Only a handful of river systems spring seasons open in mid-January and most will be fly only for springers. |

I think you`ll find spinners allowed on some rivers in spring as the fish don`t move well to a fly when the water is cold. Spring run fish are scarce so to conserve stocks its mainly catch and release . |

| I stand corrected as I think it Jan or feb, anyway I know its only for a short period. Although Iv'e got the bug, My sea fishing won't suffer. I supose its catching a good fish on my first outing that has done it. keith |
