Hi y,all

Not sure if this is the right forum but second time lucky! Just had my "initiation" into boat fishing!

This is really for all of those who have thought about going out on a boat and ummed and aahhd about it .....well do it! I had thought about it for ages and now wish I had done way earlier!

I had my first ever boat trip on Monday and have already booked up for second in a couple of weeks it was great and two more whilst on holiday in devon over easter .....watch out Devon!

I went out in a boat from Chichister harbour called "Silver Fox" skipperd by a lad called Brian. He was obviously not in it for the money and looked after me all day with constant advice and help.I am pretty green myself but what I lack in knowledge I make up for in enthusiasm. So he did get asked an awful lot! lol lol

We fished eight miles out from chichester the weather was brilliant sun all day not quite bikini weather but fished most of the day in a teeshirt! Wind about a 5 and swell about a metre so pretty good conditions I've been told. Didn't suffer from seasickness at all and found sealegs quickly. Had interesting time as it was first time using multiplier (only ever used f/s before)but Brian was very helpful with this and soon got the hang of it. Definatly got to get me one of these! In all had a pretty succesfull day,I caught One 8lb Thornback and 3 spotted rays and a few doggies Brian had more doggies and same amount of spotties so I won by default.

The bait we were using was a combination of cocktails of Squid, Mackerel and sandeels. By far the best on the day was squid and sandeel as this is what was most succesful.
The boat is kept in an immaculate condition and I was shown how all the "gear" worked so all in all steep learning curve but brilliant all the same.
Can't wait for the next one!!!!!!!!!
