Last conger I caught was about 3.5 ft and that was off my cousins boat in Limassol (Cyprus)
They all laughed at me when I turned up with my gear! (they only pole fish) I pity the fools! lol

| i would fish it at night, and be prepared to lose tackle as its very snaggy, its where there dumped all the rock from the channle tunnel. |

you 'might' be able to walk down to it (but thats a trek) but it is closed to cars at night.
When I travel down to Dover etc for some night fishing its shut off.

Hi I help run the kingsferry boat club I have never heard or seen conger coming out from the bridge the fishing on the swale is very snaggy so be prepared for loads of tackle loss..
the bridge is not bad for the bass but the big ones are few and far between HOPE THIS HELPS
thanks paul |

Hi
Samphire is open out of normal hours, you have to ask security by intercom at the barrier if it is ok to fish, and they have never said no to me.
I was there last night til about 8.30 and there were another two groups who looked like they were there for the night.
It is a rough place to fish, tackle loss is high so often I only fish down the wall and reel up a bit to avoid snags.
Hope that helps!
Happy fishing

I fish Samphire fairly regularly.
Last year I had 2 x 5lb mullet and 5lb bass so stick at it, although this year hasn't been so good for me. Had a pb wrasse about 2lb this year but not much else.
Samphire is one of those places which you will always catch something even in the day, but as it is terrible if you cast. Last night I probably only retrieved 2 out of 5 long range castes!
All the bigger fish I caught there have been straight down the wall, and as Matt said, night time means tying shockleader, new rigs regularly etc is probably more hassle than we need!
Good luck in the conger quest, gotta admit I have never heard of one caught off the shore here but would be fantastic if you did!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy fishing
