Well the red ice in the other thread we were discussing was a favourite but Ultima line just beats it in my mind
Cheers

hi all
ive posted this before but here it is again.
i bought a bulk spool of gold challenge mono, august last year it is 15lb line and it cost me 15 quid!! its sounds like cheap crap but i tell you what its the best line ive used, its was 15 quid like i said but i got 8600 m! 8 kilometers!!! it lays well on my 7hts and cast very well.
you associate cheap line with weak knots and crack offs but this is the best value line i have ever bought.
so dont ever dismiss cheap BIG bulk spools!! |

Hey Phil, you did not tell them that you change the whole spool every time you go out! |

I totally agree with Phildalt about Challenge line. As far as I know you can still get it from Jim's in Cornwall mail order. I was using it for years whilst learning to pendulum cast and never had any kind of problem with it. You can buy it from him for just over two quid a spool ( 15 lb bs./1000 metres ). I think this is the link. http://www.jims.org.uk/fishing/monofilament-b.htm
Comes in yellow or clear. |

No worries mate. Certainly worth trying for the price. |

Ultima. Not badly priced and good line. Wears well on rough ground and doesn't delaminate like the berkley trilene that I was using before. |
